Meet Your Maker

Hi, I’m Libby Darnell, the hands and heart behind every bar of Luxe & Lather Apothecary.

I also own a local chiropractic clinic, Freedom Chiropractic Spine and Injury Center

I started with a simple goal: make soap the way I’d want to use it. That means locally sourced tallow, skin-loving oils, and thoughtful ingredients that actually do your skin good. Each batch is small-batch handmade, giving me the freedom to experiment with textures, colors, scents, and even champagne (yes, real champagne) to make your bath feel like a little celebration.

As my soap-making journey grew, friends and family started requesting a solution for their skin issues—dry patches, irritation, and stubborn dryness. That’s how I started making whipped tallow balm, which has quickly become one of my best sellers. I love it because it works—people see real results, and it’s incredibly satisfying to create something that makes such a difference for skin health.

On a personal note, I'm a believer, a wife, a mother to two fantastic boys and two dogs. I love being outside going on walks, hikes, camping, and gardening.
